First time blooming this plant! It has about ten more buds coming in very very slowly. This is not a fast plant.

Beautiful, Ryan! Looks like a very happy plant. I love this species, I'll try to get up some pictures of mine which just finished blooming. Check yours for fragrance in the late night/early morning, I always thought mine didn't smell but it has a very pleasant spicy/jasminey fragrance during those hours (which, unfortunately, are not when I'm usually up!).

Beautiful! It looks happy in the bowl. Mine doesn't like me. It grew beautifully the first year, and bloomed (while I happened to be away) and in two years since it has done nothing nothing nothing at all. Not even grow.

I have one of these, too. Mine is mounted and quite a bit smaller than yours. Guess I'll have to wait a while to see blooms.

Thanks, Bud. I love the pinwheel look for the petal and sepals. The color is classic of what I manage to get out of my blooms here in Colorado. I cannot explain it other than I manage to give it consistent high and low temps. Whenever I get a plant in bloom, I get it because I love the colors but in my highland environment, I can provide consistent low temps and high temps and the colors always pop the next time around! My winter blooms are usually more more bland and washed out because the in house temp is more steady with little high and low variation. I could be totally wrong with this but it's just an observation. I grow hippeastrum outside here in the warmer months and they are going into bloom now... And wow, do the colors really explode with the temps in the 30s and 40s at night with highs in the 70s and 80s.
