Paphs with long, twisted petals
One of my favorite Paphs has always been Paph parishii.
I no longer have it and don't remember which way the petals twisted but have always wondered. If the petals twist clockwise in the Northern hemispere would they twist counter-clockwise if grow in the Southern hemispere? Or is it genetically predisposed to always twist in the same direction? Just curious. :scratchhead: |
Never thought about that before, now you have me wondering.

I've seen parishii and other twisty petal Paphs where the 2 petals are like mirror images, so one is twisting clockwise and the other is twisting counter-clockwise. I've also seen them both twisting in the same direction. I don't know if it is genetic or random, but I'm sure you can't generalize whichever hemisphere you're in.
