What is this (on the spike)
 

Hi, rookie here...so my phal recently grew a spike for the first time since ive had it (2 yrs). I see little flower pods but lower on the spike is a mitten looking thing which appears to be another spike?
Is this possible? Its about halfway up the spike, maybe a little higher. I took a pic, trying to figure out how to post it. Thank you!!

No need to post the picture; it is quite common for phal spikes to develop branches. Congrats on your success in getting it to re-bloom.

Awesome, thanks! I moved to a new house and the master bathroom apparently has the perfect light/heat because it immediately grew new leaves then a spike in just a couple months. Time to get some more orchids :))
