Really nice, great orchid. It's a shame it's not what you thought when you bought it, but it's a nice one.
When you buy from certain places, you get a certain number of plants that are wrongly identified. I think, though, that this one came from a vendor who should have had it right. The Trisetellas especially seem to have a problem with misidentification.

Yours is quite lovely, Ron!
Thanks, Paul. Not my favorite species, but lovely in its own way.
Ron - nice flower but you are quite right it does not compare to Masdevallia lamprotyria.
I like the teeny flowers that forms a bouquet on your plant..they have yummy candy colors...with the gothic fairy tale shape and textures...you always have interesting blooms in your collection, and I always await in anticipation what you will post
Thanks, Bud. I have to admit, though, that I was disappointed that this was not the species it was supposed to be.
Do not be disappointed Ron, every flower you have is a blessing in disguise. It was meant to be with you. It will give you happiness and to others too...that alone is already your triumph & success.
Thanks, Bud.
