Orchid Intergeneric Abbreviations!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FINALLY have found two GREAT lists showing a good chunk of (can't be quite sure, as I don't know how many genera are out there!) orchid genera and intergeneric names and their abbreviations!!! They are both PDF's, but they are too good to pass by. The first one, http://www.orchidsaustralia.com/download_genustab.pdf is the more comprehensive one, as not only does it list all (not sure once again) genera with a list of all intergenerics that they are a part in, with an abbreviation for the natural genus, but it also lists every (?) intergeneric with their abbreviations and genus components! The second one is a little less comprehensive, as it just lists the the name, whether genus or intergeneric, and its abbreviation. http://www.firstrays.com/PDF/Orchid%...0by%20Name.pdf I have been looking so hard for such great things as these, and I am SO glad to have found them! You people should most definitely bookmark these two PDF's, as I for sure use them a lot!

Very cool, it's a big help for trying to figure out hybrids. I have some trouble with the mixing of the names and what kind of hybrids = what.

By the way, I know we don't want tons of stickys on the board. Wouldn't make sence to have everything stickyed, hahaha. I do think this might be something nice to sticky. It's very helpful information for someone trying to learn orchid names and hybrids abbreviations!

I do agree, as there are some crazy crosses out there, and the first one would help you find the genera that make it up, but also its abbreviation, so you don't have to have a twenty character genus name on your tags! :D

If you have Orchid Wiz you have the whole thing up to date and easily accessible.

Although that is nice, what if you don't have orchid wiz. I don't know what it cost but not everyone might be able to afford it right now (the economy isn't great).

Wonderful links! Thank you! I visit Ray's website a lot so I'm shocked that I haven't seen that list before!
