Phalaenopsis violacea var coerulea
1 Attachment(s)
My first Blue! It's a light blue, and a bit faint, but the spicey/sweet scent is awesome. I'm hoping for more color on later blooms, but it's a solid bloom for my first!

:faint: :faint: :faint: That is SPECTACULAR! I am glad to know that these non-Norton coeruleas are a consistent shape, size, and color! Now to wait a few years for my tiny little violacea 'Blue' seedling to bloom.
|
Ahh, norton Blue's... Yet another I need to get! I'm jealous you have even a seedling.
|
Nothing to be jealous of, it is not a Norton's seedling, nor will it be near it. I have Googled the cultivar 'Blue,' and they have all looked like yours. I think these are 'natural?' coerulea versions of violacea, while the Norton's seedlings colour comes from a mutation.

Its a proper beauty!! Congrats.

beautiful! I killed mine! :_(
good growing! |
Really nice one!
|
Just got my first real whiff of it mid-day, and if you didn't know it, you'd think I had planted a piece of big red gum in a pot. It is exactly like cinnamon. Very cool, anyone else noticed this?
|
OOO! That just makes me more anxious for my Sumatra to open up!
|
That looks excellent! Congrats.
