Habitat North Vietnam,grows I/W with medium amounts of light. Keep moist and fertilize when growing(I use 20+20+20) Reduce water during winter,no fertilizer.Water until new shoots appear. Small sized orchid,mounted or pot(fast draining medium). Delicate lilac 1.5 inch waxy flowers,remains attractive 6 weeks on the plant. Easy grower. Yves |
WOW, I'm not really a fan of dens but I sure like this one! I like the way the plant looks and those flowers are gorgeous. Thanks for posting this, I'll look for one.

Very nice plant, Yves! All the yellow at the base of the segments is great, other individuals I've seen are less colorful. Is it a seedling?
The lip of this species is really cool; it's fuzzy, very dark red/black, and mobile, sort of like a Bulbophyllum. I'd love to know what kind of pollinator it has in the wild. Joann, Andy's and Carolina carry this one, though both call it by the synonym tuananhii (trantuanii was published earlier and is accepted by Kew). If you buy from Carolina get one in bloom if it's available... :roll: --Nat |
