Repotting a Cattleya, which was does it grow?

Which way to Cattleyas grow? The pbuld with the flower was right against the edge of the pot. It that the newest growth? I'm a little confused on this.

Yes , the flowers are on the newest growth. It will continue to grow in that direction. When you repot it, leave enough room for the plant to grow a couple of new psuedobulbs in that direction.

I may need to make a new pot then. This one has growth for one new pseudobulb, unless it curves.

You may have to remove some of the old psuedobulbs if there are know leaves left on them or they just do not look very good. Then put that side of your catt to the edge of the new pot and allow for about 2 new growths in the other direction. You want to have at least 3 psuedobulbs if not 5 for a healthier plant.

All of the pbulbs still have their leaves. It's still a small plant, only 7 pseudobulbs.
