Are these buds or leads
 

I looked at my cattleya today and I see something changed. I did not see these things yesterday. Are these buds or leaves, there was no sheath.

Looks like buds to me. Congratulations!!!

Thats weird because their was no sheath and the lead is not even developed yet.

ditto what Marissa said! congrats! not all catts get sheaths - I even have one that sometimes gets sheaths, and sometimes goes directly to spikes with no sheaths :)

It does look like buds, but I agree, its weird as the leaf barely looks developed yet! Must be eager to bloom! Hope you will post pictures when it opens! What name is it?

Enjoy them. Mine just did the same thing. It's always a nice surprise to find buds and then flowers. Maybe next time there will be a sheath.

I have one that blooms as the lead is developing, which places its' bloom time in early Sept.
