I did it again. I went to Wallyworld yesterday and here was this lone survivor of the Christmas orchid massacre. Well, I steered my cart a little too close to her and she jumped in when I wasn't looking. Actually I had my 3 yr old daughter along and when I picked it up she said "it's ok if you get it, Mom." How much more encouragement do you need.

I think orchids use humans in some sort of symbiotic relationship. We look after them and in exchange, we get to enjoy them.

I think that makes the orchid smarter than the human.

That could be! They do always sucker us into buying them.

Buying them, watering them, feeding them, etc.... Ah well, we get to enjoy the blooms. And to me the time it takes to care for them is ME time.

Yes! I agree! During the summer I love to garden and enjoy our koi pond, but during the winter the orchids are my garden. They sure do brighten up the winter!
