1. find a picture on the net
2. right click select properties
3. select and copy url address (http// blah blah.blah)
4. go to your post write what you want and hit the little picture of mountians a window will pop up
5. paste the url in that box and hit ok
6. preview and that should be it

Maybe the pics just take a long time to load. Sometimes that's the case with me.

Finally got the avatar loaded

I finally got my avatar uploaded after several tries. Just needed to re-size even smaller.

When taking pictures from the web it was meant your own pictures from a photo hosting site not someone else's.

Copying photos of someone else's work without permission is copyright infringement and illegal.

Test following instructions

http://orchidsamore.com/photo_galler...um%20_2843.jpg

Be careful to take all the properties it can be several lines long and the slightest error will not work.

Also if anyone wants to use photos on my web site to illustrate their postings they have my permission to use them. All of the information and photos on my web site may be used by individuals and Orchid Societies without charge for non-commercial purposes.

There are 2500 orchid photos with the newest name changes and the parents of the orchid. The gallery photos are sized to post directly into a thread.

Here are instructions...and the most important part is resizing prior to uploading:

Okay, so what I want ot do is post pics like orchidsamore did, but use pictures I put on my computer from a camera. So how do I do this?

Follow the instructions in the link I provided...make sure you install the resizing program first.

From my limited experience of posting pictures, and some comments from helpful members, you can only post thumbnails if they aren't already on the web. Of course once you click on the thumbnail it enlarges. (I have attached a sample of one of my photos) But you can't show the full size photo in your comment area like Orchidsamore does. They have to be links from Picasa, Photo bucket etc. So if they are just on your computer, go to "Go Advanced". Under Attach Files click the Manage Pictures button and then browse for your photo and upload it. It has to be re-sized before uploading. If you scroll down in the Manage pictures box, it will tell you how big for each file format. I have had the message that upload failed, but it worked anyways. Does that help at all?

Let's see if it worked!
