RO Water questions

Hi there OB,

I've got a big container of plain RO water off my mate that i want to use to water my orchids but the water is quite cold out of the container so what i was thinking of doing is putting a bit of boiled water into the RO to take the edge off as i like to use tepid water, would this spoil the RO water?

What do you mean by "spoil"?

You will be adding minerals back into it, making it no longer pure, but probably not enough to be a concern.

Hi Ray,

What i mean is would puttng a bit of boiled water into the RO to make it tepid put impurities back into the water what the RO unit takes out? and defeat the object of RO.

The this is only a really small amount of boiled tap water and my area has pretty good water.

Might be better to simply use a standard aquarium heater - a small, submersible electrically powered water heater, inexpensive and easy to obtain - and warm the water up to between 70 and 75 degrees F.
Thus, saving the purity of the RO water.
