Perlite or rockwool as a medium for seedlings?

Has anyone used perlite or rockwool as a medium when deflasking. Carmela uses small rockwool cubes for their Cattleya plugs. I was thinking more of useing the granulated rockwool or perlite as a medium for seedlings coming out of the flask.

I use perlite with fine bark. Works fine. Its really just up to you to watch the moisture levels. I have never used rockwool, but it's something I'll look into.

Yes i use 100% perlite, kept constantly moist via a semi-hydroponic reservoir for deflasking with excellent results. Just be sure to keep it moist and add in appropriate ferts as they grow.

Very good, thanks. I was pretty sure it was a good media for the purpose but wanted to check others experience.
