miltoniopsis culture
are miltoniopsis especially hard to care for? or do you think i could do it? can someone provide me with a culture link?
lots of water - moderate light - the Miltoniopsis species are mostly cooler growers, tho many hybrids can take warmer temps
Well I have one that's doing OK, but I've quite uncertain of whether I'm doing the right things.
(I've also just declared one dead this morning, but it had bad roots from the beginning.) I agree about plenty of water. Mine has pleated leaves on the new growths because I've not done enough. Still need to make sure you don't drown them though. I can't say if they are easy or not as I'm not confident with mine yet. |
that helps a little bit, do you think id be able to have it in my climate? it get HOT in the summer though. im ok with frequent watering, im already watering on once a day so im already out there
Some of the hybrids are more warmth tolerant, so you may need to look arround for one that says it is.
alright, do you know of any that you know are warmth tolerant?
I think most hybrids commonly available should be warmth tolerant.

thanks alot! its gets up to like 95 here, but its 90 in the house. it gets better air movement and humidity outside, but inside it only gets up to 90, not 95
where do you think i should keep it? |
Well - mine do fine outdoors - can get mid-upper 90s on occasion, even sometimes 100 or above, tho we do have a big swing between day and night temps here. It also can be quite dry during summer days here. Mine get some early morning sun, then are shaded from late morning on.
oh, then mine should be able to do fine here. how often do you water? what are they potted in? are they outdoors all year long? which ones do you have?
