NOID Cattleya

One good thing of having too many orchids to be taken care of, so many surprises await and one of them is surprise bloom from this from Cattleya alliance. This is one of no ID orchids that my father brought home last year.

Appreciate if you have any clue on what this is. I am guessing Potinara due to the small stature. Flower is about 2 inches wide.

Looks like one of the many many crosses with Bc. Richard Mueller as one of the parents, possibly Blc. Hawaiian Treat, but I think there are too many similar ones to be sure.

I would say no on the Pot. for two reasons, one they usually have much wider sepals and petals and if these not have small round fat pseudobulb, there not a Pot. I believe your might have a Blc. of some kind I have seen the shape flowers with spots on them. VickiLB

well whatever it is it's quite lovely - looks quite similar to my No ID Catt type that's currently blooming

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Your view of what a Potinara might be is very narrow. This plant falls well within the immense diversity that might have been called a Pot. This hybrid genus is no longer officially in use, but the Brassavolas, Cattleyas, Laelias and Sophronitis that made it up at the time could combine for a plant and flower form and size like almost anything in the Cattleya alliance except reed stems.

I don't have a clue what to call it besides, Gorgeous.
