Tetramicra eulophiae Rchb. f. is a terrestrial orchid, endemic, typical of pine forests throughout Cuba. It is characterized by its cylindrical leaves something
grooved dorsally, up to 40 cm long. The flower do not exceed 3 cm in length. This genus itīs kind of difficult to detect, hidden in the bushes while itīs not flowering.
The genus itīs exposed to the negative effects of fire, common in the pine woods where she lives
I am very happy because I found this place, not so far away from home but away from plundering people!!!!

Big hugs and photos of the site!

Hi Jose, They are beautiful. I live in South Florida and search for Dendrophylax lindenii (Ghost orchid). I have read they have been found in Cuba. Are you aware of this orchid? They live mostly in the Everglades swamps. Does Cuba have any Swamp's?

yes we have Dendrophylax here (Orquidea fantasma) very beautifull and hard to find! and the marshes and swampy areas are covering approximately 8.26 percent of the surface of Cuba...can you imagine how much of them very deep inside...

Thats so cool. Maybe you can find one someday. They can be tricky to see. I would love to see a photo of one from there.

I was just about to ask if you had seen any ghost orchids (Orquidea fantasma). Please let us see a picture when you find it.

that is very nice! I've got a soft spot for orchids displaying the brown-pink color scheme.
