Unknown epidendrum, need help with ID
3 Attachment(s)
I got this Epi as a small cutting years ago here in Florida, It is very tall and lanky, and I've never exactly figured out the ID. It survived the freezes here in Tampa (covered up with lights) and is blooming it's head off right now (see attachments)- the blooms are all poking through the fence, the plant is pictured separately.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Cat |
Awesome! sorry - I have no idea on a possible name, but it looks great!

:twocents:It's hard to tell without a good close-up of the flowers but it looks like it might be Epi. stamfordianum.

Looks good, but the bloom comes directly from the apical end of the branch/shoot (with alternate leaves), not the base of the pseudobulb (there are no pseudobulbs anyway).

Indeed definatly not Epi. stamfordianum.

I'd say it's a match as far as one can from pictures.

Bingo! Mine doesn't have as many speckles, but a little research and everything else fits! Thanks, I've been puzzling over this baby for years. Epidendrum cristatum it is!
