Orquideas Tropicales

I am in the process of unpacking an order from Orquideas Tropicales. I shared the order with some friends and I have just sorted them into the 4 lots. Pretty tired now.

I have opened a few of my own plants and :bowing they are so healthy and nice. I hope that the rest are as good as the ones I opened so far. I am posting the first pics below and will post more tomorrow as I unwrap them. So far I am more than happy.

Gaspar Silvera has been fantastic every step of the way too. A great communicator and a real nice guy. Good prices too. I knows its a bit of a plug for him, but hey, I am a very pleased customer right now.

Whoa....

If the root systems on these plants look good enough, I'm sold...

Is there a minimum order?

Hi again

Well here they are. I will take pics of the roots when I am potting up.

As you can see, some of these plants are little monsters. Very good size. I am really pleased.

The minimum is $200, plus CITES/Phyto and packing at $95

Postage on this 16kg order was about $200 to Bangkok, so a smaller order to closer countries will be much less I guess.

Hope you dont have horrendous taxes like Thailand or officials with hands out under the table every to deal with

I am just THRILLED to see that they are going to be at Redlands! I'll be spending some time at their stand for sure :cloud9:

Thanks so much for sharing this with us...if a few friends get together and place a large order, the CITES and shipping charges won't be felt too harshly by just one person

We did an order between 4 people. Gaspar had no problems with that and was very accommodating to out needs. :)

We got 100 plants and out of that only 1 plant was missed out. All the plants were exactly what was ordered though.

I have had orders like this elsewhere, but with many stuff ups, more plants missing and not good like this. The plants that came in this order were in the best condition I have seen an order in for a long time.

When plants arrived, the newspaper wrap was slightly damp. I would not like that if it was in 40c heat for a week. But as he sends via airshipping, I think it is ok. It is only a few days to us and Airlines are careful as it is all insured and they put perishables like these in air cond.

I am going to order again for sure.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the importing fees are like here in the states?
