Such a wonderful weekend poking around in the woods! Then we came upon an open meadow and it was dotted with wildflowers - just a few, it is still April at 4,500 feet and the hardy ones are out. Lunch by the river and the twenty-somethings acting bullet-proof  (my daughter and her hubby).

I love weekends!

I hate it when you Oregonians flaunt your wonderful weather to us easterners :poke: Seriously, I really miss living in southern Oregon where temps were nice this time of year.

Wow! Our wildflowers are not that large or spectacular. Maybe has something to do with your altitude, my altitude is a nose bleeding 25 ft at its highest.
Happy Hiking

Has more to do with clean air, good living, somewhere to hike (besides swamps), nice views, and a great soil (unlike Florida sand). Just had to jump in here since Sara didn't respond.

Florida. We have over 1400 mile of the Florida Trail system,90% of them are not in swamp. It never snows. Hike all year. And a great ocean breeze from both sides (real fresh air). Oh yeh deep sea fishing, coral reefs, great beaches, you know where people vacation! And I didnt even mention the ORCHIDS. Can you even touch the water in the Great Lakes without needing shot? Have a great day.
