organic 8-1-2 fertilizer

I was wondering about the weakly weekly thing because I bought the stuff shown in the link below.
I was told not to dilute this because it's organic and the numbers are low. bottle says:
Liquid organo-mineral concentrated fertilizer, apply twice a month.

what do you guys reccommend?

Sorry about the weird translation.............

It is a bit high in nitrogen, compared to the other macro elements, but you should have no issues using it.

If you divide 13 by the %N on the label, it gives the ml/L to use, and you can do so at every watering without worry. In this case, that's about 1.6ml/liter.

Louise, Do you need further explaination on this matter?

weez1959 02-20-2010 01:33 PM

yup :blushing:

I understand the divide 13 by the N but what I was asking was, because it's a natural fertilizer and was told not to dilute by the store clerk.... do I or don't I? Am I just nit picking?

To the best of my knowledge, you need not bother, but if you want to go about it a bit conservatively, try half that for a month, then increase it if all looks well.

Yes, you need to dilute it 5ml in 1L as stated in the information you pasted. Putting this neat on your plants will burn them to death.

This is a fertiliser better-suited to general foliage plants. I would use an orchid-specific feed, with a balanced ratio of NPK. I use 5-5-5 with good effect.

Yikes! I misread your post.

Yes, use the "divide 13 by the %N" calculator to mix it up. My response was intended to indicate that you probably need not both to dilute it more than that.
