Royal Orchid Cllub - Bill Asia Who is he/they?
 

Does anyone know who the Royal Orchid Club is and who is Bill Asia? This is thier e-bay store is there another business name?

I have heard from many orchid folks to avoid this vendor. I have never dealt with them personally...just passing what has been recommended by others.

I ordered ONCE from them. That was enough.

he imports bare root plants from Thailand and then they get sent once a month.

It is not great but I got 2 small Vandas that seem healthy. the roots were dry but came back easily.

It is very inexpensive. you get 2 small plants for 1.

He has mostly hybrids.

I would buy for him if I find some Vanda alliance I'd like for a very cheap price.
sometimes names are mispelled etc... but you can get something for 10 $ that elsewhere would probably be 30 or 40 $

I recently ordered three plants from him. The plants arrived in decent shape, bareroot, as he informs you beforehand. They seem to be doing OK. One of them, D. Caesar's Pinky, came in spike. He also sent a gift plant, also as he informs you if you buy three or more plants. My only complaint is that the gift plant did not have a label, only the number #200. I went to his site but did not find anything corresponding to that number.
Will I buy from him again? If he has something I cannot live without. :rofl:

if you email him the number on the label he will tell you the plant name.

well you get 2 plants for 4 / 5 $. the vandas I got are doing quite good. a Brassavola is ok. one better than the other. 2 Den stratiotes died.

But for Vandas def ok for the price.

I bought from them once, seedlings looked just out of flask teeny . a Catt with no live roots and no viable dormant eyes .. Once was one time 2 many ..

Once was too much but I bought from him twice. I bought 1 Phal (spiked, ready to bloom) from this guy and when it bloomed, I discovered it wasn't the one I ordered but a completely different hybrid. When I informed him, his response was that I waited too long for him to offer anything other than his condolences.

He also goes by the name, Bill Asia on ebay. He imports these orchids, doesn't grow them himself. Most everything he ships is bare rooted and those roots are not for the faint-at-heart.

Buyer Beware!!!

I have ordered from him once and had no issues. The plants were small and bareroot, but with proper culture, they did great. Very cheap prices... worth the chance.
