Schomburgkia Sawyeri

This was just given to me about a month ago. The spike came up about 2 weeks ago, and the bud was a dark pink last night. Got up this morning and whoa, what a surprise.

Wow, I'd love to have that one in my backyard!! Mom must be something when in bloom!

That is definitely not a pure schomburgkia. No keels in the lip.

Agreed. Looks like there's a bit (or even quite a lot) of laelia anceps in this one.
Still beautiful though! I'd certainly trade a whole bunch of the root rotted NOID phals that tend to come my way as freebies for this one. ;)

Two weeks ago it spiked and is blooming already? I definatly need one like that, because I always have to wait forever for flowers. Besides being speedy, it is also pretty! :)

Gorgeous!
