Cattleya mossiae

I shouldn't have let this bloom because the plant is not really in good health (it lost the roost and is severely dehydrated), but the pot was behind some others and when I noticed, the flower was already open, not a good flower though, due to the plant condition. I took the photo and cut it off right after!

It is a nice mossiae. I hope it recovers well this growing season.

It's not THAT Bad! but, OK I accept that by your standards it is. & yes, the p/bulbs look behind the flower look extremely dehydrated.
I have a question I am curious to know what you have changed since you cut off the bloom? (to make the plant recover & be healthier? - I mean)

It is just a matter of saving energy, Nenella:). Keeping a flower is always something that demands a lot of energy and since this plant lost the roots the flower would be exclusively maintained by the (already) dehydrated p-bulbs and that could be potentially disastrous!

I hope it recovers for you. It's a wonderful colour.
