I have got this plant two years ago, first year did not wake up at all, but this year grew very well and gave me this male flower spike, it has a very nice fragance. You may go to this URL address to enjoy best quality pics:

The lip looks like a big pink tounge being stuck out. Really cool one!

I have never seen this one before. Its really cool though! I wish I could get some of the more exotic Catasetums here in Hawaii!!!

I have now this plant in flower. The white pronounced callous enclosed within the redish lip and a huge flower size, make an outstanding composition, in overall is a very attractive plant. The flower spike looks very nice and is one of my favorite catasetums.

Wow, Bruno! It is beautiful. What is really nice with that specie it is its variability. And all its varieties is only question about how the callus looks like. The first one shown I think is var. rhamphastos. But all of them are beautiful. And I feel as you do - Catasetum tabulare is one of my favourites too. I do have adult Catasetum tabulare var. rhinophorum which bloomed recently and the second one which I bought from Colombia. This one didn't bloom yet because it is still very young, so I keep waiting for surprise.
