My first online order is here!
4 Attachment(s)
I finally gave it a whirl and ordered some orchids online! I've been growing for 4 years, so I'd say I'm long overdue!
My new plants are: Neofinetia falcata 'Pine' Masdevallia infracta (Purple x self) Miltoniopsis (M.H. Arnold Linsman 'Hot & Spicy' AM/AOS x Hajime Ono 'Island Fantasy') plus a bonus: Isabelia virginalis I ordered them from Olympic Orchids. They deal mostly in seedlings, so I'll have the fun of watching these guys grow and raising them to their first bloom. They came very well-wrapped, although two leaves had come off of the Masdie and some perlite had fallen out of the holes in the Milt. pot. These are all firsts for me, including the bonus plant. I ordered them for the climate at my home in western Washington, which is cool and humid. However, since my school year has started, they were shipped to my dorm in eastern Washington. My dorm room usually reaches 80 degrees, so I'll be keeping the humidifier going for the Masdie and the Milt especially. Here's pics of my new babies! Sorry for any blurriness. I took the pictures pretty quickly. The Isabelia (4th pic, mounted) doesn't look like much in the picture, but it should eventually form an attractive, gold-netted mat. I found pictures of the other parent, but couldn't find the right clone of Hajime Ono. I'm trying to get an idea of what my Milt is going to look like. Thanks! |
excellent choices Evan. Have no idea on the parent.

Very nice Evan. Can't help you with the parents either but Im sure someone will.

Thanks Swamper and Dave! There's a picture of the Masdie on Troy Meyers website. I fell in love with it because it looks like it's made of amethyst. And I've been wanting a Neo for a while.
No worries about the Milt. parents. I'm sure someone with OrchidWiz will come along eventually! |
hey got stuff from them as well -
she was nice to talk on the phone - I got what I ordered - and she gave me an extra - teh only thing the Renanthera bella is not doing so well - more or less same size as yr Neofineta. probably a few years to bloom - I have been really happy with some eBay stuff. a Den formosum and a Yamadara. they were very very large. Blooming size. stefano |
