Help Me! First Orchid- phalaenopsis- no clue what to do...

Iv'e just gotten my first Orchid and i have no idea what im doing.... All I know is that its a Phal, it's blooming, and the roots are growing over the side of the "pot" (if you call a tiny plastic thing a pot)....i have a feeling i need to re-pot it, but i have no clue of how to do its or what to do it with........please help me :( I REALLY don't want to kill this thing....

Sam-- best thing to do is type your post's title in the search field and read away-- loads of your questions, worries and concerns will be answered this way.

But for me, I have repotted every new plant I get so I can see for myself the health of the plant and roots. Then it goes into fresh medium and a new, plastic and clear pot. Be sure to read up on what pot size you might need for your plant-- they do not enjoy overly larger pots!

Finally, post a pic of your plant! There is a lot we can tell from a photo and besides, we like seeing the flowers.

Welcome to the OB Sam. I agree with what Pilot has said regarding general questions and posting a picture. We'll all be glad to answer any specific questions you have.

I looked up alot of info about my plant, and from what iv'e found, my plant is healthy....it seems akwardly tall though, compared to pictures iv'e seen, but ill post a picture soon and get your feedback and advice.

You're welcome. I hadn't thought about it before, but yes, some phals really do look "akwardly tall".
