Printed Plant Tags- HELP!

Does anyone know where to find software, or a website that will custom print your plant tags. It seems that lots commercial growers have them with a logo on them but I can't seem to find where to get them. I thought I was doing good. I printed off all my own tags onto clear address labels and stuck them on half inch wide tags. It took hours of work. They all looked fantastic last night when I put them in and I was really proud of myself. I found ink that was both supposed to be photo sensative and water proof.

I just finished watering and had to run back around putting my old tags back in ( thank god I saved them ) because the waterproof ink ran and was running right into my potting media. Im so upset right now I don't even know where to start. :(( :_( :dumb: :badh:

Paul, I'm sorry to hear about your labels... it is very frustrating!! I've been there!

I bought a Dymo Rhino Pro and use the vinyl labels which are not only waterproof, but won't fade in the sun either. They have worked really, really well for me on both inside and outside plants.

Any one know How much are one of those Dymo Rhino Pro's?

Or is there any other way to make good Chid Labels, as Cowboy asked??

I worked summer jobs in quite a few nurseries and garden centers, and the majority print their tags with a thermal printer, on special tags. Tags last forever with that, but the equipment is expensive.

I've heard of the vinyl labels shannan mentions, and apparently they last quite a while. I think I read somewhere about a type of vinyl label that could be used in standard inkjet printers. Not sure though.

As for programs to edit labels, I have no clue!

I use Brother P-Touch. I love it, and they are do not run or peal off.

Go to the Brother site. They have many to choose from in several price ranges. Some of the office stores also sell them. The bad part is the label tape is expensive, but it lasts forever.

Paul, I have been using Product Listing - Plant Labels - White, sheet of 10 and a laser printer. You can print whatever you want that way.
