how can this be happening!
 

my good aunt of mine gave me an orchid. it looks odd to me at first... and after looking at it closely it seems the flower came from an "old leafless wrinkled dead look canes" ok now im starting to get frustrated. if she can produce an old leafless cane then i believe she can produce alot of spike flowers back then "right?" i've always thought "my idea of an orchid" once a cane is mature then i expect a flower spike will appear after it blossomed and withers i have to wait for a new growth to mature"

here's my question? - how can this dendrobium shoot a spike of healthy flowers coming from an old leafless cane. Please if you have any tips i would be happy! *im kinda embarass asking my aunt about it. :scratchhead:

Dendrobiums are really like that, I once had a habit of cutting those leafless canes until one day they produced flowers, by then i realized they aren't dead but somewhat dormant. i dont know what specie it is but i think its a hybrid.

yeah... ok... so what secret potion do you use inorcer for leafless wrinkled cane to bloom by itself! HELP! i want my orchids to bloom like dat!

There is no secret potion , the grooves in the cane is normal , it is not dead , just continue to care for it . Gin

gin is right, just care for it like your other orchids, i usually spray my orchids once a week with an organic fertilizer called powergold but half the recommended dose, and water it every other day
