What is this?
2 Attachment(s)
I've been watching this white stuff slowly creep across the bark. I pulled it out today to repot in my first S/H trial and it was allover inside, along with some other fungi. I think some other of my plants may have it now. Does anyone know what it is?Attachment 855Attachment 856

It's just a fungus, nothing to worry about. It feeds off the bark, doesn't hurt your plants.

It appears to me to be a fungus favored by periods of high humidity or conditions that promote a more humid environment. I as well do not think this is harmful to the rooting system, but it appears to be what I have seen on my pothos's when the humidity is high and the soil stays relatively moist than the norm. I as well do not think this is harmful by any means.

Isn't that "snow mold"?
Before you move that puppy into s/h culture, be sure to remove all of the organic mater and treat the plant with a disinfectant, or ou will likely get more, with older, weak roots being the organinc matter on which it will grow. |
I agree that it looks like snow mold. This is one of the many signs that bark has broken down to the point where repotting is required. If the plant has active root growth presently, it is safe to switch it to s/h, after liberal treatment with physan and careful cleaning as suggested by others here. If not, hit it with physan, repot in fresh bark mix and wait until the appropriate time.

It does have new roots, and I did soak it in physan, after trimming off all of the dead roots. Thanks guys!
