A V. Miss Joaquin spike for Ike
4 Attachment(s)
Just noticed a couple of days ago this new spike on this terete vanda I was given. I hung it up for the first month or so,then had it up against a fence for another month or so, finally potted it the way you see it close to another month now.
It looks to be spiking. Very odd looking on a terete since the leaves are so different. Anyway thought I'd show some before pics....I'm pretty happy about it:D Who else has this one? I'd love to see your pics. |
Very cool! I don't have vandas, but I can get just as excited for others who can grow them! Yippee Cowyeah! :cheer:

Yippee Cowyeah! LOL thanks Kiki, that's sorta what I said :)

I have one of these but have never had it do anything :bua:
I read that when they're potted, they need to be higher than the other plants around them. I told this to my husband and he now insists on hanging it higher than any other plant around! Looking forward to seeing your blooms! She's so pretty :cloud9: |
Way cool, can't wait for :photo: Is that lava rock you have it potted in?

Susanne They love full sun the more the merrier
Lecent, that is lava rock. I just liked the color, they don't need it. |
I recently put mine outside the orchid room, it's getting full sun and looking happy so... :crossfing

Great growing Swamper!!!
Susanne mine is in FULL sun and potted in good draining soil. I also put some slow release all purpose food over the soil. The babies are very big and happy. And yes they have to be higher than everything else next to them. |
I have mine hanging but now I'm thinking maybe I should pot her up! :hmm
