Brassia with wrinkles

:hello I have new flowering age brassia rex. That I repotted when I received it two weeks ago. I,ve just noticed that two of its three pseudobulbs are kind if wrinkled. All of the leaves are in good condition. I,ve watered it twice sents potting. Should I water it daily until the pseudobults fill out or what other might I do? Thank you all. Wayne

Hi Wayne,
The two bulbs could be wrinkled because they are the older bulbs. Can you tell if they are?
Also, sometimes when you aren't watering enough, they will also appear wrinkled.
What medium did you use? What was it in before repotting? It might just be adjusting and that might be a factor.
I would not water it daily, no, but I think you should be watering it perhaps 2 x wk. and see if this makes things better.
If the leaves look healthy, I wouldn't be too worried about it, it's probably doing nicely... just adjusting.
Pictures and more information would be helpful, otherwise it's just a shot in the dark on my part.
And as I always like to tell people, I am no expert! :)

Brassia watering

Thanks Kiki, The two bulbs are the senior ones, and the medium I,m using is the bark mixture because the plants were shipped to me bare rooted. Any ways I,ll try watering twice a week and see what happens. Thank you ever so much, Wayne

I agree that it is probably adjusting to the new media. My dens and oncidiums are the worst at developing shrunken bulbs after repotting. Did you soak your media before potting? If not you can soak the potted plant in water for about 5 minutes the next time you water. I'd only water using this method no more than once a week.

Thanks Junebug, Yes I did soak my planting medium before planting. I,ll just have to be patient and give it some TLC. Bye for now Wayne

Hi Wayne, I just wanted to chime in that my Oncs do the same thing. I worried at first but the leaves are all good and new growth is abundant so I guess it's just an age thing.........we can relate!
