kelpac dosage
Good day to all,
After reading in this Board how hepful is to use kelp in watering orchids to promote new root activity, helping in the repotting procedures, i have, at alst, got my kelpac bottle. The instructions printed outside the container are not for orchids, but fruit trees, strawberry, rice etc., and i am a bit confused with dose. I have read, as a rule, to dilute 1tbspoon (15ml) per gallon (3,785 l), but also 10ml per liter. In my bottle, there are different options, but in general , a 1% solution should work. Would it be very kind if someone can give me an advice about it. My plan is to use kelpac for those plants with poor roots, in repotting, and as a complement with stablished plants. Thank you in advance Pedro |
The manufacturer recommends a dilution between 1:400 and 1:100, with the most concentrated mix being use to "wake up" dormant plants.
I experimented and over the last decade have found that 1:250 (4 ml/L or 1 TBSP/gal) is a reasonable level, combining efficacy and economy. No matter what you use, they recommend not doing so more frequently than every two weeks. |
Thank you very much Ray, i will follow your recommendation.
