Cattleya rex var. moyobamba care
 

Hello guys!

I just finally was able to find and buy a beautiful Cattleya rex var. Moyobamba and I was wondering if some of you could give me some tips. It was recently imported from the souther hemisphere so keep that in mind regarding care.

I did some reading but I got conflicting information from it. They like warm temperatures, even during winter, but I have questions regarding watering. Some people recommend giving them a dry winter with not much water at all until a new growth appears. Other people recommend giving some water, just less than during summer as to not let them completely shrivel.

I am more inclined to believe the seconds approach since I read they still get some rain and fog during winter, just less.

I wanted some confirmation for this and also other tips you could give me regarding this more difficult species.

One last thing was regarding the variety moyobamba and how much different it is from the other varieties. I read it is a high land variety, so I assume they are of smaller stature?
