Greetings.. (just got my first 3 orchids in the past 4 months)
Just signed up recently, and I must say, this seems like a pretty friendly community. I'm new to orchids (plants in general, really) and its good to know theres a place to go with all the questions i will no doubt have.
I have 1 phal, 1 milt, and 1 oncid/odont. Are there any orchids that bloom three times per year or more? |
:welcome: Atom
Glad you have joined us at the OB :) Congrats on the start of your orchid collection .. I am sure there will be more to come ;) My cochleanthes bloom through out the summer .. I don't know if you would consider that blooming more the 3 times a year .. it's more like it's a constant bloomer throughout the warmer months .. |
Welcome to the OB! I have many different orchids that bloom more than once a year. Some of my phal-type dendrobium hybrids bloom quite a bit. Also, some of the mini/small cattleya hybrids will bloom two to three times a year.
It generally depends on the orchid. There are some that will only bloom once a year. If you have an assortment, then generally something hopefully will be in bloom throughout the year. |
my theory is, the more orchids you have the more blooms you have. so go big with variety and join the addiction!
