Side lighting for for tall/climbing orchids?

I mostly grow phals and terrestrials indoors, but I'm interested in branching out. Before I moved, I grew my orchids on shelves and in indoor greenhouses with LED shop lights tied/hanging from the bottom of the shelves.

Since I'm still on a shopping stream for new equipment, I'm interested in trying out Epidendrums and Maxillarias, but I'm wondering how people light their tall plants/plants with a strong tendency to grow up and out of their mounts/containers.
  • Do tall/climbing orchids need to be lit from the side?
  • If so, what kind of lights do you use and how do you hang them?

I put tallest plants (Cymbs, reed stem Epis, etc) on a low shelf and have 4' LED lighting hanging over them on a chain with hooks in ceiling.

I have been growing an orange tree under lights with my catts and phals, and I will need to find a new set up as it grows. There is an interesting video by US Citrus on YouTube that mentioned Sansi LED lights.
