Help! My Oncidium pollinated by itself what do I do?

So I was looking at my lovely Oncidium Catatante and noticed the stem of the last flower on the side shoot was swollen as was the ovule. Didn’t know for sure what was going on but I had my suspicions which were confirmed on the internet🫢. Since I hadn’t planned on this “pregnancy” I’m not sure what I should do about it. I know it can me very difficult to grow from seed so I’m a little scared 😱. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?
Thanks so much to anyone who replies,
Kristin
PS Just looking at this plant again and the blooms on just one of the side shoots are very strange, multiple lips and other oddities like that. Why does this happen? Especially since all the rest are normal!

First, Welcome!

Orchids do sometimes self pollinate. You can watch the seed capsule develop for the fun of it, and maybe take a look at the seeds (like dust) when it matures, or cut it off if you don't like the look of it. You're not going to have success propagating from seed, but no harm in trying for your own curiosity. (You can look around the Propagation forum for info on growing from seed as an educational exercise, but without laboratory conditions not likely to be successful - and even under perfect lab conditions, to get new plants is a years-long process)

Sometimes a plant will produce mutated flowers.. if there are only a few, I wouldn't worry about it, Various environmental factors can do it. See what it does next year before worrying about whether there's a genetic problem.
