Not bad for a NOID Phal

Hey all!

A client gave me a handful of NOID Phals about four years ago because they hadn't bloomed for a while. I dont have any other phals so I gave most of them away but I kept this one because it just started growing and it didn't stop. I put it on SH about three years ago and it has taken really well to it.

I looks like Phal. equestris is a dominant species in the heritage. That's what gives it the small but numerous purple flowers and branching spike. It's a beautiful spray of flowers!

I really love the Bonsai-like flow and directionally that it has. The roots look like they are trying to pull the plant back into the pot. I love the look of this plant even without the flowers. And it has 12 leaves! Not bad for a salvage phal!

Looks like Sogo Vivien, of which Phal equestris is 52%

^^^^ Very well could be! Looks about right

I'd also like to add that because I grow in a very dry environment I redirect all the 'aerial' roots into the pot which is why it looks the way it does. In my mind they are much more valuable in the media than they are out in the dry air.

So pretty and well done. I like anything that hangs over the pot and tends to grow in those directions.
