Angraecum arachnites

This Angraecum arachnites bud is wild! Just the size compared to the size of the plant...I'll post updates as it continues to develop

I love it when the flower is bigger than the plant! Eager too see it open - a really neat species.

I'll take it out and get some better pictures against a black backdrop at some point. Does anyone know how long these blooms last?

Flowers aren't terribly long lasting... a couple of weeks maybe. So enjoy them while you have them. Totally wonderful flowers on this one.

Me and Angraecoids usually don't get along, it's one of those one-sided love affairs, so I'm just stoked for this. I did buy it already in bud, but I managed not to blast the bud for the month it took to develop - and I also just bloomed Angraecum distichum. On the other hand I have an Angraecum didieri that has done nothing for months, not a new leaf or a flower in sight, an Aerangis curnowiana that just slowly loses leaves, and I just killed my Mystacidium braybonae while trying to quarantine it for mealybugs. That's OK, this flower makes up for it all.

Angraecum distichum is a great one! Once the plant really gets going, it pops out a flush bloom quite often - multiple times a year.

Awesome

Fascinating flower. And the fact that the plant is so relatively inconspicuous makes it even more intriguing. I wish I could grow members of this family, but for some reason they seem to delight in dying on me. Congratulations on your wonderful bloom.
