Brown spots on unknown mounted orchid

2 Attachment(s)
Hi! My name is Amber. Orchids are my absolute favorite plant but sadly I know nothing about them. I have found this forum today after searching for answers online. I have had a mounted orchid for many years. I don’t know what it is. The only time I’ve ever seen it bloom was when I first purchased it. That was so long ago that the only thing I remember is it was beautiful and I think white. The last couple of years it has developed brown spots on the leaves that eventually turn into holes. I’ve actually had to cut a few off because they had totally died. I’ve tried putting it in all different spots thinking it was light related. I bought a spray fertilizer thinking maybe it needed food. If I’m being honest I could have tried harder over the years and maybe not just winged it. I like it so much that I haven’t given up. I decided now that I am set on reviving it. I just don’t even know where to start. I know nothing of orchid care. People who can not only keep them alive but make them thrive are beholders of witch craft in my eyes. I’d like to start working my way towards some of those enchantments 😊
I have attached photos. Thank you so much for your time.

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

Your plant is in the Cattleya alliance. It might be a Cattleya species or a hybrid among related genera.

It looks mostly healthy. The roots I see are good. Mounted Catts generally fail to flower because the don't get enough light, or don't get enough water at the appropriate time in their growth cycle.

The black spots could be caused by many things. Where are you growing it? What are your temperatures day/night through the year? Humidity? How are you watering?

Indoor growing? Outdoor growing? Or semi-outdoor (eg. under a balcony)?

The very important questions have been asked by E.S. already. Thanks ES!
