ginger cat

This is my cat - pics taken an hour or so ago. She was a stray cat - was pretty much skinny and all bones around 2 years or so ago. At that time, she would 'almost' let me touch/pat her when she did her rounds (visits) around our yards. Not sure where she was based - but was definitely a stray.

She decided to take up residence after I gave her the secret code-word ----- 'food'.

This cat has a great temperament. A very good personality. She follows me around pretty much all the time, even after her meals - which is quite an interesting behaviour.

So now I have a cat, which wasn't expected. It's just one of those things that just occurred hahaha.

I forgot to mention that the blue tarpauline merely covers a spare (backup) freezer unit. It's not used. But might come in handy if ever needed.

Well, I like you better already. 😂😉 IMHO every home should have a cat or two. Nice save! Beautiful animal.

She's beautiful, and very lucky to have gotten a permanent home with you!

DirtyCoconuts 04-19-2020 09:35 AM

She looks like she is not skinny anymore! Great on you!

A beautiful ginger contemplating how she can improve your orchid collection! Very good thing you did for her.

DeaC, is that a new tagline? I like that a lot. Of course, that ginger cat made my morning too. Rescues are the best.

Ilike the quote also DeaC. However, my babble comes mostly from the later group:rofl:

Shes lovely.
Some cats are chosen by people, some cats choose their people.
Looks like you have been chosen.

Thanks dolly! The cat in your avatar looks so cute!!!

Dolly, Cheri, DC, DeaC, Early, and Diane, rbarata, ghuylar, fishmom, and WW ------ I've been blindsided about all of you --- that surprised me about the pet likes/lovers here!

DeaC ----- very nice description about the contemplation hahaha!!!! Wonderful description. With that, I'll definitely share a few other nice pics of ginger cat. She hasn't got a name, but I just call her 'gingy' hahaha --- ginger cat for short.

This one is ultra careful among the orchids - never knocks over any pots or harms any plants. Never brushes her body up against any plant. Sometimes, she will take a smell of the leaves or flowers!

One of the attached photos is just showing her backyard water bucket, which normally is laid on an angle on a piece of stryofoam, where she goes by herself to drink water. But sometimes, when the water has insects in it, she won't drink it, so she gives a gesture by sitting next to the water tap ----- which is her signal for me to fill up the bucket with new clean water, which also often means she will just drink straight away from the bucket.

Another photo is her sleeping on the 'top floor' of her apartment hahaha. The top floor is a cardboard box, which (I think) was a box which orchids came through (in the post). The box was left on the floor in the yard, which she immediately took over (to sleep on). The box got wet from rain, so I had to try repair it with painter's tape. But it kept sagging. So I had to then put a piece of styro-foam right in the centre of the box ---- so the box still sags, but at least stops her from sinking all the way through the box when she sleeps on it. The box was then stuck to the top of a plastic crate. So the downstairs of her 'apartment' is a green-coloured plastic crate, which is more open - and she also sleeps 'downstairs' sometimes. The green crate can't be seen in the photo, but it's actually below the cardboard box. The cardboard box is the upper level of her 'apartment' haha.
