When to repot Aliceara Stellar

2 Attachment(s)
I'm new to orchids, but loving my small collection so far.

I'm trying to decide if I should repot my Aliceara Stellar as it has started to grow sideways and out of the pot.

Would separating and propagating the new shoot that is growing roots be a good idea?

I've read they like small pots and it is otherwise doing very well so I'm reluctant to make any changes.

Thanks

Such plants live as colonies. The more growths, the more sturdy and resilient the plant will be. I'd not divide that. If you must divide it, the general rule-of-thumb is one new-, plus two old growths at a minimum.

The best time to repot any orchid is just as new roots are emerging from the plant. Those new roots will support the plant as it gets established. Looks like you're very near that now.
