My Back Yard

A number of years ago, we had a cyclone blow a number of trees down, including a jacaranda. Had to cut the jacaranda in half and gradually lifted the base up. I utilised the timber that was cut off and used some to prop up the main trunk.
Over a few years, I added orchids and a few logs from my mango tree, to enhance the aesthetic look. The orchids are mainly dendrobiums and cattleyas, with a few arachnis and assorted annuals. Cheers, Bobj. |
That looks like a lovely place to spend some time!

One of the good things about my back yard, it backs onto National Park and there are no fences, gates, barbed wire to deter a bloke from going in there and finding the odd log to bring back for an orchid, or two to claim as a home.
Found a few over the years and found one a month ago that I cut to size and 'acclimatised' it in my garden, ready for a phally and a cattleya. Excuse the blemishes on the photo, been fishing and forgot to wipe off the fish slime...Well, it's a good excuse. Cheers, Bobj. |
