Hello, everybody!
I have a question about my orchid that I recently bought from a seller in Ebay. The seller said that it is Phalaenopsis Bellina AM/AOS x self. After some weeks, This bellina bloomed and the flower turned out to have a little too much pink on its sepals, dont you think so? Now I’m thinking that this Bellina is actually Samera or Samara crossed back with Bellina. I have been googling for Phal bellina with more pink like this but most of them are rather more green.
So What do you think the actual ID of this orchid I got?
Is it Samera/ Samera x Bellina/ Bellina?

it doesn't seem to match straight bellina for sure (although it could just be an odd one) I would be inclined to say samera or (samera × violacea), not sure it is really possible to tell for sure though.

That’s a disappointment:( I thought I would get Phal Bellina.
Do you think the AM/AOS the seller is claiming is false too?

If a plant is awarded it should have a clone name (eg. Phal bellina 'Nice One' AM/AOS). If there is no clone name, then it would be less likely to have a legitimate award or it would be impossible to verify.

I've had mixed luck ordering orchids on eBay. I've gotten a couple of nice ones though. If you check thru this forum they often have reviews of various orchid sellers. As always, buyer beware. Sorry for you disappointment.

Hi, it is not a clone, a seedling. A awarded plant crossed with itself.

it's hard to say from a picture, I have seen P. violacea's look like Bellina's and vice versa but generally the Bellina has broader flower petals, violacea has narrower ones. Your flower petals are quite broad. There are so many variations like Bellina ponkan or Montclair.

Have a look at Phal Bellina 'Red apple' - It looks very similar to yours.

You could also compare the fragrance to a known bellina, bellina has a slight lemony scent whereas violcea is more spicy. It's still a nice flower and I think nicer than the regular Bellina.

Yes, but the parent would have a clone name if it was indeed awarded.

The seller said "it is Phalaenopsis Bellina AM/AOS x self."

Looking at it more I think there is a good chance it is just a very violet form of P. bellina.
