I found them while hiking near a river. I found several specimens of the tolumnia growing on trees. The other one I found growing on the ground in between rocks very close to the river and it didn't seem to have any leaves.

I think the second one is a Bletia (not Bletilla). :)

edit: I think it is Bletia patula (whose range includes the Dominican Republic). :)
