2 types of Growth after keiki paste?

I am very new to this. I applied keiki paste to not just the nodes but the end of the spike also. I am now getting two types of growth I believe I am getting new buds, but the green growths, i am wondering if it is too early to know what they are. Thank you.

My guess is you have triggered the plant to produce more flowers. In pic three I’d wager the purple growth becomes a bud and the green side a keiki

Depending on the hormonal phase of the mother when you apply the paste, it will trigger either. I guess you managed to hit the margin where it was riiiiight in the middle

I'm not sure what you mean by the plant's "hormonal phase", but the hormones in the paste trigger undifferentiated cells to begin to do so, and already-differentiated ones to grow.

If bracts are removed from the flower spike (those little flaps of tissue at the nodes below where the flowers formed) and the paste is applied there, keikies are likely. Other places on the spike have already "consumed" the undifferentiated tissue (i.e., it became more spike or flowers), so it's a crap shoot. Often, it is a grotesque clump of growth that does not grow correctly for either.

What's the name of the paste you are using? It looks like a lot.
