two new acquisitions

I went to the farmer's market yesterday and came back with two new orchids (for just $10!! :D). I know that an exact id for these two is utterly impossible, but I would like to at least know what alliance the first one belongs to (the second one is clearly an Oncidium, and it's fragrant too).

I'm torn between Oncidium intergeneric or Zygopetalum alliance. I'm leaning towards Zygopetalum alliance. Here are my (kinda flimsy) reasons:

1. there are purple spots on a pale greenish background(I know, terrible reason, but that was my first instinct)
2. the leaves show parallel venation much more clearly than other Oncidiums I have, much more like a Zygo's leaves. not like crimping/pleating, but there are these translucent green veins on the leaves that are sort of reminiscent of Zygopetalum leaves.

The problem is the pbulb is super squat and has a sheen to it, which doesn't really resemble any Zygopetalum alliance hybrid that I've seen. Honestly, the more I think about it, the less I think it belongs to the Zygopetalum alliance.

What do y'all think?

ps: sorry for the mediocre lighting - it's been cloudy/raining recently. :P

I think Oncidium tribe intergenerics. You did well! If Miltonia is involved (very likely) that would be a source of thin leaves on the larger one. The smaller-flowered one very likely has Oncidium ornithorhynchum in the mix.

thank you very much, Roberta! :)

I'm no help with ID, but I just wanted to say they are both very nice. You got a great bargain!

Neat

The one with the spotted petals looks to have Odontoglossum bictoniense in it.

No help with IDs... but WOW! For $10! Now that's a deal. Beautiful plants.
