From top to bottom: Finally bloomed a yellow. I had the plant for a little over a year. As you can see, the yellow takes time to develop. Second picture taken 4 days later with green turned to yellow. Third 6 days after second picture, now all buds open. Fourth 6 more days after third, now more vibrant yellow. |
Very beautiful flowers.

Nice job!

Beautiful! I have a plant but haven't gotten any flowers yet. Thank you for sharing!

Greenvalley,
For some reason, I don't know why, I have had difficulty blooming yellow flowered neos (Kibana, Yubae, Ogonmaru). This was the first time I succeeded with one after quite a few years with yellows and discarding a number of them. If you like them keep at it. |
Wanted to comment, really beautiful. Love the combo the darker green foliage with the intense yellow!
Actually similar to mine, which was a crappy plant I got on sale somewhere (won't do that again). It bloomed first year i had it but because of its poor state has been on recovery after rot and mealies, sigh. Thanks for tip on yubae, etc. almost got a yubae, but if that tricky and you of all people can't bloom it, forget it. lol... If only their foliage/ growth habit were as interesting their flowers (or flower color?)... |

I don't consider myself an expert on blooming. Example, it’s been several years since I last bloomed my Tamakongo and recently it formed a spike. |

u bada, This is a picture taken by SE of the Neof hybrid Yubae that I got from their auction sometime ago after literally waiting years before a good one became available. Even though I have yet to bloom it, I am happy with the purchase since if I ever bloom it, I think you would agree, the payoff will be great. Yes, it was in bloom at time of purchase so I know that is definitely the very plant received. The flowers were worse for shipping wear so I did not take a picture of it upon receipt. |
Your plants look very healthy growing in their bark medium. I'd read where you posted your neo medium recipe on here before, but can't find it and was wondering what it is?

In addition for Neofinetia, this can also be used for Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilums, and mini cattleyas, not standard size. |
