bulbophyllum dayanum 'red' problems??
Hello good people,
Can anyone offer any help on this one. Ive had a terrarium running for about 6 months now and all of my Bulbo are slowly declining. Im still figuring out if its the heat over summer, light levels or some other factor. This is a leaf that has dropped off my Dayanum and im wondering if anyone can divine the meaning of the marks on the leaf? Any help would be great, thanks 🙂 https://flic.kr/p/RE5Dwn https://flic.kr/p/2e2A8Pk https://flic.kr/p/2fqub4H ---------- Post added at 10:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 PM ---------- https://flic.kr/p/2fqub4H ---------- Post added at 10:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:10 PM ---------- Arghh, pictures are not posting, ill try and put them up on my desktop |

Any ideas what has gone on here? ---------- Post added at 11:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 AM ---------- Also, it seems to be stretching out a long way to each new bulb, could this be a light deficiency that is causing the plant to create such long 'arms' or is this normal for this species? Many thanks for any help |

Hey. I collect mostly bulbophyllums here in Florida. My greenhouse reaches into the 90s often in mid day and they seem to be totally fine as long as my humidity stays high and there’s decent air movement. What are the levels in your terrarium?? Do you have good air movement in there? The rings on the leaf pic makes me think bacterial problem. I’m sure someone will have the total opposite opinion but from what I’ve seen with my plants that’s my best guess.

Hey Dtb I just found this in one of bulbophyllum books. Thought it might be worth reading also for you. Hope you can read it.
