Looking for orchids in Toronto!

Does anyone know where I might be able to find different kinds of orchids in Toronto (other than Phals.. fortunately I have too many:lol:).
It is so hard to find them!! Nurseries in the area only have Phals, as do grocery stores, Costco and Ikea. I'm looking for Brassias, Paphs, or anything interesting. My main problem? I don't order online..I prefer to see the plant and pay in cash (no credit cards:D).
I'm at wits end as to where to look now.. getting discouraged.

I HIGHLY recommend Clouds Orchids in Jordan Station, ON. I have ordered from them online and they have a huuuuge selection, and the best prices I have come across in Canada. If you check out their website, they list days that the greenhouse is open to the public for sales, and have directions from different areas in southern Ontario. I soooo wish we lived in driving distance! I would be broke alll the time! lol

Definitely going to echo Cavs here! Cloud's is the BEST orchid vendor here in Canada, and it would be SOO worth it to make a drive if you prefer to pick them in person, as I think they are the only major greenhouse in Ontario. I have mail ordered from them three times and even in the middle of the summer, the plants arrived in awesome condition, and their plants were perfect!!!

Thanks for the info!!! I went to Sheridan today.. expensive, yes, but I guess it helps when you have a company registered to get a discount :D

I have gotten several orchids from 'Orchids in our Tropics' they are really nice. Their greenhouse is up near newmarket. They have lots of different kinds of orchids. Check out their website, goodluck!

I have been to Cloud's greenhouse and they really do have very nice, healthy plants at reasonable prices.
I just wish they had lots of vandas. But they do have a great selection of other orchids.

I have bought a few plants from Clouds Orchids and I have to say they have nice plants. If you live in Toronto you should check Flora Peculia @ About Us - Flora Peculia, they are located right in the Oakwood and Rogers area. I haven't bought any plants from them, but they seemed nice and knowledgeable When I talked to them at the last SOOS orchid show.

I am yet another customer of Clouds with very positive experience and definitely recommend them.

I also am a HUGE fan of Cloud's. Starting in March they have monthly retail sales weekends which often include a short, informal workshop on the Saturdays at noon. I'm so excited for the greenhouse tour in May! Eye candy!

Anyway, the staff there is really approachable and more than happy to offer advice. Oh and they often have a section of $5 plants and include a free plant with purchases over $100. They also sell all sorts of accessories - pots, planting medium etc.

I know I sound like I work for Cloud's - but I really don't! (I sortof wish i did though! haha). 23 of my 29 plants are Cloud's babies and are all very healthy and happy.

I've been to that tour in May and it really is fantastic! The prices are good and it's hard to resist spending every cent you have!

:D I checked on Cloud's website and saw the greenhouse tour in May. I've penned it into my planner and can't wait to go!! Here's to hoping nothing comes up to stop me from going!!:pray:

Sheridan nursery in Mississauga has a few types. There is a huge greenhouse on Brampton -- I forget the name and they have lots too.

The Southern Ontario Orchid Society show and sale is on this weekend at the Edwards Gardens, 777 Lawrence Ave. East, Toronto. Lots of vendors will be there, including Cloud's (whose orchids are very good). A show like this is probably the best place to get plants and supplies. Go to soos.ca to get a $2 off coupon.

I used to go to that show when we lived in Ontario. I wish I could go! It is so nice to go to a show at this time of year.

I'm at the show right now, it's nice! Not so nice for my wallet, I miss my money already:(

I heard of a place called Poppies Plant of Joy around Queen St West. I recently saw an Instagram post of them getting in some Miltonia and oncidium orchids but I haven't checked them out in person yet... Maybe I'll go this weekend :)

I'm bringing this thread back.. Anyone know of some good places in Toronto to purchase orchids at reasonable prices? I'm even willing to buy clearance orchids to try and bring them back to life.

I'll be definitely checking out Clouds next month
