Catt 'King of Taiwan 'ORCHIS has opened as far as he's going to. I got the colour as close as possible to the actual colour; it's not they day-glo pink seen with the LED UFO light. Phal Tri-lips 'Fairy Tales' is the supporting act.

Cool effect. How long does it take you to water your jungle?!?!

It takes about two hours, generally, but I now split it over two days. Hopefully, in a month I'll get permission to build my greenhouse and it will be a much easier task. :)

Me too! LOL I'm getting some quotes this week for all of the work - nightmare lol.

Are you sure you want to move your kitchen jungle? It looks so nice! Maybe you just should get a whole new collection for your green house. These orchids are way to happy where they are now to move to a new place.

Yes, this is another problem. Once the GH is full I will be compelled to fill the house again. :biggrin:

I only have one light at the moment but I'm hoping to get another three in the near future. My set up is simple; it's in the kitchen lol. My living room window is also packed with orchids lol.

Thank you! Under the LED light it glows deep pink but under normal light (natural or normal light bulb) it's dark purple/red. I'm very pleased indeed with this one. There's one more flower to open in the next week. The scent is spicy and sweet, gorgeous! :)

Is that 1 light enough to bloom all those plants - incl Cattleyas?? could be worth for me. how many watts? More efficient than fluorescents?

LOL A GH will be very welcome I can tell you! I have no work space at all now in the kitchen.

It is a lot of work to water them all but I do enjoy it, however, I'm gagging to get my GH! lol

The light is 135W and covers an area of 1 sq. meter at 3 feet above the plants. Ideally, I would have another one to give better coverage. There are several catts and several phals about to bloom. Having this light certainly hasn't slowed them down any. I have not tried fluorescent lights so I can't say if it is more efficient or not.
